Storm Christoph is entering its third day as East Riding Council tells people to prepare for the possibility that parts of East Yorkshire could flood.

Yellow and amber weather warnings for heavy rain across the county have now been stood now but you can keep up to date with them here.

It's brought anxiety to parts of East Yorkshire that were hit by heavy flooding less than 12 months ago.

In Snaith, homes and businesses have been preparing for even more damage. Eleanor Robertshaw, who's a vicar in the village, says her stomach dropped when she saw the warnings earlier this week:

"I think after what happened last year, it's more what affects people mentally. My heart sinks when I think this could happen again".

Over in Greater Manchester, people in Didsbury had to be evacuated overnight following a day of heavy rain.

The Prime Minister chaired a Cobra crisis meeting on Wednesday after major incidents were declared in Greater Manchester, South Yorkshire and Cheshire.

Boris Johnson has urged people to heed the flood warnings and follow advice from authorities.

He told reporters:

"There are some times where I have been to scenes where, alas, people have decided not to obey the advice and not evacuated.

"But it really is advisable - follow the advice. If you are told to leave your home then you should do so.''
