A 31-year-old man has been arrested following a reported stabbing at Boulevard Park in Grimsby on Sunday 9 June.

Shortly before 9.15pm, officers were called to a man who had been stabbed within the vicinity of Duke of York Gardens near to Richard Street.

The man was taken to hospital for treatment for his injuries after he suffered a stab wound to his side and to his back.

Inspector Gary Johnson leading the investigation said:

“Following multiple lines of enquiry over the last few days, a 31-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm. I want to offer my reassurance that we believe this to be an isolated incident between individuals known to each other.

“A scene guard was in place at Boulevard Park, and whilst this has now been lifted, local residents can expect to be an increase in policing presence in the area. I would encourage anyone with information, or anyone with concerns, to please come and speak to us."
