£500,000 of government funding has been secured by Invest East Yorkshire's Business Support Services.

It's aimed to support local businesses, where grants of up to £50,000 can be used for new equipment, machinery, farm diversification, creation of tourism accommodation and carbon reduction projects.

Starting up grants of £750 will also be available to support new businesses, as well as £1,000 training grants to improve businesses.

The money has been sourced through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) and the Rural England Prosperity Fund (REPF).

The funding has been described by East Riding of Yorkshire Council as a chance to support business community. Councillor Anne Handley said:

“This is a fantastic opportunity for local businesses to access government-funded support, to accelerate their growth. We’re proud to support our business community, and the East Riding’s economy, to create new opportunities and help secure a prosperous future for our area.”

The team has supported over 2,000 businesses across East Riding over the last two years and hope to help many more in the future.
