A 16 year old boy who repeatedly stabbed a 14 year old boy in Hull has been found guilty of assault.
The teenager who can't be named for legal reasons got into a disagreement with another boy last September (21st September 2021) and produced a knife.
He then chased his victim through Bridlington Avenue before stabbing him 3 times in the back and 3 times in the front narrowly missing his heart.
He was found guilty at Hull Youth court and will be sentenced at a later date.
Speaking after the verdict, Detective Chief Inspector Craig Nicholson said,
“Knife crimes of this nature are extremely rare in our area thankfully.
“The situation these two boys ended up in has changed both of their lives for ever. The victim has suffered hugely as a result of this attack, not only physically but mentally, and I commend him for the bravery he has shown during the legal process and for the time it has taken for this case to come to court.
“I want to say to anyone who carries a knife or is thinking of carrying a knife, that not only is it illegal, but it doesn’t protect you. In fact it makes you more vulnerable and places you in danger of serious harm.
“Humberside Police remain resolute in tackling knife crime and preventing crimes such as this happening by working with children and young people in schools and colleges.
“By making sure young people know the dangers of carrying knives we hope that this kind of incident can be prevented and young people will feel safe in their communities."
