The collision happened on Anlaby Road on Monday 19th October.

Police were called to reports that a blue BMW had collided with two boys riding a bike and both children were taken to hospital where Steven passed away from his injuries.

The other boy on the bike has been named by his family as 11-year-old Mason Deakin and although his injuries remain serious, he is now in a stable, no longer life threatening condition.

A 30-year-old man arrested at the scene on suspicion of driving offences has been released under investigation as police continue their enquiries.

Police say Steven’s family are continuing to receive support from their specially trained officers and are grateful for all the messages of the love and support pouring in from the public.

The collision investigation continues and police are still appealing for any information, witnesses or dash cam footage of the incident, or moments before.
