Take That have admitted their desire to pen the next James Bond theme song.

The Manchester band, currently consisting of Gary Barlow, Howard Donald and Mark Owen, feature on the soundtrack of new spy blockbuster, Kingsman: The Secret Service, starring Colin Firth.

However they revealed they’d love to be part of the classic Bond franchise by writing the theme song for ‘Spectre’ – Daniel Craig and Sam Mendes’ latest 007 adventure.

Speaking to Digital Spy, Howard said: “God, I would love to do a Bond theme, love a Bond theme.”

Gary added: “I think movies in general are a very exciting area for us. I think anything that is British grown like Kingsman and James Bond, we’d be proud to be a part of.”

Sam Smith currently appears favourite to land the role of recording the next Bond theme. When told of this, Gary replied: “He’d be brilliant. Get him in!”

Take That recently confirmed that they will be performing at this year’s BRITs awards on 25th February at London’s 02 Arena.
