Frank Sinatra’s ‘My Way’ is the most popular song at UK funerals for the seventh year running.

According to Co-Operative Funeralcare’s newly published poll, the Paul Anka penned 1969 Sinatra classic was requested at 15% of funerals in Britain making it the most played yet again.

Andrea Bocelli and Sarah Brightman’s ‘Time To Say Goodbye’ and Bette Midler’s ‘Wind Beneath My Wings’ came in in second and third spot respectively.

The research showed that hymns were played at 41% of funerals back in 2005 but this figure has dropped to 30% in the past year. Classical music is also on the decline with only one in 25 mourners requesting it.

There has also been a surge in pop music’s popularity at funerals with artists including Adele, Robbie Williams, Westlife, Celine Dion and Whitney Houston appearing in the top 25.
