Elton John apologises for comparing stewards to Hitler during Gloucester gig - WATCH
He was angry at the way they were reportedly handling the crowd
Elton John stopped a recent gig at Kingsholm Stadium in Gloucester to apologise to a security steward.
The singer had earlier stopped his performance to deliver an expletive-laden rant about the way they were controlling the crowd. The stewards were reportedly attempting to stop fans from putting their hands in the air.
“Lighten up you lot, it’s not f** China so p* off!” he said. “You get a f**** uniform on and you think you’re Hitler… we’re not having it, p*** off!"
Following the explosive outburst, the ‘Rocket Man’ singer expressed regret for his reaction by offering a lengthy apology to staff.
He said: “I do apologise. Whoever told the stewards to be restricting, that’s their f* fault and not hers. So I do apologise to her and I would be willing to apologise to her face. So if she comes up now I’ll give her a big hug, come on.
"You’re doing your job. But it’s so frustrating; if people want to wave their hands don’t tell them to stop. It’s a musical event.”

Meanwhile, Elton John is expected to appear on the new Chic album alongside Janelle Monae, which is set for release next year.
