Queen’s Brian May has revealed that urgent tests he underwent for prostate cancer over the festive period have come back negative.

In a post on his Soapbox blog, the 66-year-old guitar legend says he received a call from his specialist with great news – however, there are “some mysteries to solve.”

Brian wrote last night: “Well, I got a great phone call from my specialist this evening. He said: ‘I have good news. The result of your prostate biopsy is here, and we did not find any cancer cells.’

“So finally, as far as that vital organ is concerned, I am – thank God – in the clear. It’s a great relief. I celebrated in the studio with a cup of tea. Hey… I know how to rock!”

He continued: “There are still some mysteries to solve, but I am going to take a moment to count my blessings, and get back into life in the big wide world.

“Thanks to all of you who have cared so much… I never realised I was so much thought of.”

Both Brian May and Roger Taylor have said that Queen will be exploring some musical ventures this year.

On 14th December, Brian wrote: “Our Queen meeting? Thanks for asking. We pressed 2 important buttons. 2014 is going to be an interesting year for us. News v. soon. Bri.”

And Roger Taylor said of Adam Lambert in an interview with Canoe.ca: "He's got a voice which is pretty unbeatable. I do think we will be working with Adam next year, yeah."
