Persimmon Homes have donated £1,000 to Cash for Kids as part of its year-long initiative to support local communities.

The money will go a long way to supporting the children of East Yorkshire and Northern Lincolnshire who are sick, disadvantaged and disabled.

Cash for Kids kick-starts Persimmon Homes 12 month Community Champions project, which will see £24,000 being donated to local groups and charities.

Kevin Thubron, sales director at Persimmon Homes Yorkshire, said the community initiative is a way of supporting people across every city, town and village where the company works.

He said "we want our Community Champions project to help as many people as possible and we felt the work that Cash for Kids do could help to achieve this. We are very pleased to hand over our first donation to this extremely worth cause."

Two groups will now be chosen every month to receive a donation and West Yorkshire based charities are being encouraged to apply by completing an online form at
