Viking FM held a large street party for 200 residents of Burton upon Stather this Sunday after a street in the village raised a staggering £3000 for Cash for Kids as part of Viking FM’s ‘Happy Street’ campaign.
Residents of ‘Old Row’ in Burton upon Stather entered the ‘Happy Street’ campaign in a bid to win a Viking FM hosted street party and be crowned the happiest street in Yorkshire & Northern Lincolnshire.
The community, headed up by residents Lauren & Daniel Marsh came together and fundraised a whopping £3010.16 for Cash for Kids, going head to head with neighbouring community Barton Upon Humber.
The two North Lincolnshire streets raised a whopping £4615.22 for Cash for Kids in under 3 weeks!
The street party event hosted by Viking FM’s breakfast duo, Alex & Emma kicked off at 12pm with a game of their popular radio game ‘wotsit’, followed by a congregation of family fun and entertainment.
Daniel & Lauren from ‘Old Row’ have commented on how much closer the competition has brought their community together and the couple have already started volunteering for Cash for Kids.
All the money raised from Happy Street will go to Cash for Kids!
