She invited fans to sing along with her.
After her concert at Bercy Arena in the French capital Madonna headed to the Place de la République to perform an impromptu mini-concert.
In the weeks since the Paris attacks the Place de la République has become a shine to the 130 people who were killed on Friday 13th November.
Tweeting, "Im singing some songs in place de la republique. Meet me there now" sic she encouraged fans to come down to the public square.
Madonna sang 'Like a Prayer' with her son David, saying to those who had gathered,
"Everybody knows why we’re here … we just want to sing a few songs about peace, just to spread love and joy, and to pay our honour and respect to the people who died almost four weeks ago."
The 57-year-old singer is in Paris as part of her Rebel Heart Tour which she started in Canada four months ago.
Madonna will be returning to the UK for dates in Manchester, Birmingham and Glasgow later this month.
