WATCH: EastEnders hardman Danny Dyer appears in drag in a new music video
It's very different from his character in EastEnders.
Shaking any preconceived views of the hardman he plays in EastEnders Danny Dyer plays a very different role in the new music video for Lucy Rose.
'Nebraska' is the latest offering from the British singer-songwriter Lucy Rose and the video stars Danny as a drag queen performing in a London club.
Danny told the Independent, "I was honoured to be asked by the maestro that is Lucy Rose to be part of her video." He went on to say how he thought that it was a moving piece of work "I'm beyond proud to be part of it" he told the website.
The video shows Danny turning up at the club dressed as a normal 'punter' wearing a leather jacket and dark clothes. After having a little outburst in the toilets he makes his way backstage where the transformation begins.
Pulling out a sequin dress and dark red high heels from his bag, he dons a shoulder-length wig before taking to the stage and giving a performance to the gathered crowd.
Speaking to the Independent Lucy explained how Danny got involved with the music video.
"I remember one day seeing on Twitter that Danny Dyer had started following me and being chuffed, I had no idea it would lead to this," the 26-year-old singer said. "I built up the courage and sent him a private message asking if he would be interested in collaborating on a music video."
Much to Lucy's suprise Danny was up for it and chose her track 'Nebraska'. After Lucy and director Chris Mcgill came up with the idea for the music video it took Danny just one hour to agree to it, "lets do it, I've always wanted to be a drag queen" he told Lucy.
Lucy proudly announced her new video on Twitter to which Danny responded to with three heart emojis.
