Mary Berry causes Twitter reaction after appearing on America’s version of 'Bake Off'
They love her in the States!
She’s a national treasure here in the UK but it seems the Americans love Mary Berry just as much after she appeared on their version of Bake Off for the first time.
Mary was hired by American network ABC in order to help boost the ratings of the show after a slow start, and she certainly made an impression…
The 81-year-old joined New York pastry expect Johnny Luzzini on the show to give her opinion on the contestant’s bakes. Fans of the show took to Twitter to express their love for Mary.
It seems Mary is a big hit in the States!
Earlier in the year Bake Off fans’ hearts were broken when it was announced the programme would be switching to Channel 4. Things then got a whole lot worse when Mary herself released a statement announcing she would be quitting the show out of loyalty, despite Paul Hollywood revealing he would be making the switch to Channel 4.
Her statement read:
"What a privilege and honour it has been to be part of 7 years of magic in a tent - The Great British Bake Off. The Bake Off family - Paul, Mel and Sue have given me so much joy and laughter.
"My decision to stay with the BBC is out of loyalty to them, as they have nurtured me, and the show, that was a unique and brilliant format from day one. I am just sad for the audience who may not be ready for change, I hope they understand my decision.
"I wish the programme, crew and future bakers every possible success and I am so very sad not to be a part of it. Farewell to soggy bottoms."

Meanwhile it’s understood plans have finally been put in place for the switch to Channel 4. The production company who now own the show are looking for contestants, but it’s not yet clear if the show will air in 2017.
We hope so!
