Eddie Redmayne's plea to Fantastic Beasts fans: 'Please keep the secrets!'
Actor is starring in Harry Potter prequel
Eddie Redmayne and his Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them co-star Katherine Waterston have issued an urgent plea to fans: please keep the secrets!
Fans of the Harry Potter series have had to wait 6 years for another film in the franchise to hit the big screen. Fantastic Beasts is a prequel to the story of our favourite boy wizard, and follows magical zoologist Newt Scamander on a quest around 1920's New York.
When Harry Potter and the Cursed Child opened in London's West End this year, audiences were given a badge asking them to 'keep the secrets'; and Fantastic Beasts want film audiences to do the same.
It's one of the most hotly anticipated films of the year, and in this day and age of social media, JK Rowling has urged fans to keep the storyline a surprise for future audiences.
So strict were film bosses about avoiding a plot leak, Eddie Redmayne admits even the cast weren't allowed to take a script home with them.
'Every night the script had to be taken from us and put in a safe', the Oscar winning actor revealed.
'As an actor you kind of need your script', he added.
Issuing a desperate plea to fans to keep details about the plot under wraps, Eddie said 'it was such a burden for us to keep the secrets, so please keep the secrets, otherwise we could have just had scripts all along!'
