Coleen Rooney in Twitter rant over trolls who slammed husband Wayne
"We're not plastic, he's not plastic, we are people"
Following the news that footballer Wayne Rooney has been dropped from tonight’s (Tuesday 11th October) England game, his wife Coleen has taken to Twitter to have her say.
Coleen defended her husband after interim England manager, Gareth Southgate, announced his team for the game against Slovenia, with the usual Three Lions captain an obvious absentee from the starting 11.
The mum-of-three wrote, 'Love the way Anyone & Everyone has to have an Opinion. Lighten up, life is short, give people a break. Some forget others have feelings too.'
Coleen’s message prompted Twitter trolls and football fans to express their opinion on the matter, with some bringing up the couple’s wealth and celebrity lifestyle.
Clearly angered by the replies, Coleen hit back at certain messages and even told one user 'It's feelings that matter... We're not plastic, he's not plastic, we are people'.
As Coleen took the time to reply, other trolls were telling her to 'shut up' with some calling her ’an idiot'.
The 30-year-old later wrote, 'Rant over!! Just get wound up like everyone else sometimes. Have a nice day.' Before adding that she was about to do the school run after an 'entertaining chat'.
The couple's three children have also been trolled in the past. When proud dad Wayne uploaded a snap of his two eldest children in their school uniforms, online trolls were quick to comment, with some even calling the young boys 'ugly'.
Wayne Rooney is expected to be on the substitutes bench when the team play away to Slovenia at 7.45pm tonight (Tuesday 11th October).
