North East Derbyshire, Chesterfield and Erewash are all moving into Tier 2 of the Government’s coronavirus alert levels – meaning tougher restrictions for residents.

The move means households will be banned from mixing indoors, including in pubs.

Outdoors, you can continue to meet in groups of up to six people.

Businesses and venues are not asked to close under Tier 2 and the national guidelines on shutting at 10pm, wearing face coverings and operate in a Covid-secure manner, including restrictions on table service and group bookings will apply.

In Erewash, the case rate as of yesterday was 163.8 per 100,000 people - a rise from 98.8 the previous week. The rate in North East Derbyshire was 161.6. The rate in Chesterfield is 143.9, more than double what it was the previous week.

Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, Leicester, Oadby, Wigston and parts of Derbyshire High Peak are all in Tier 2 already.
