Woman arrested after stabbing in Leicester
A woman is being treated in hospital
Detectives are appealing for information following an incident in Yeoman Street, Leicester.
Police were called at 6.06pm on Friday evening by East Midlands Ambulance Service who were attending to a woman who was seriously injured in the area.
From initial enquiries, it is believed the woman had been stabbed with a glass bottle. The woman, who is in her 40s, was taken to hospital where she currently remains.
A 43-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm in connection with the incident and currently remains in police custody.
Enquiries remain ongoing as officers continue to establish the full circumstances of the incident.
Officers are appealing to anyone with any information to make contact.
Detective Inspector Mark Brennan said: “This is an extremely concerning incident which has happened in the city centre during the early evening. A woman remains in hospital with serious injuries.
“We are carrying out full enquiries at the scene and we are appealing to anyone with any information which could help us to make contact.
