WARNING after commercial fireworks are stolen in Leicestershire

Police are warning of the potential dangers of commercial fireworks which have been stolen from a storage container in Groby.

The high quantity of fireworks have been reported stolen from a business storage unit in Newton Linford Lane. The fireworks are believed to have been stolen sometime between 7am and 5pm on Thursday 13 October. The storage unit had been locked.

Some of the fireworks stolen are extremely dangerous and can only be safely used using electronic devices. Not using them in the correct way will cause serious injury.

Police Constable Danielle Holmes said: "Please be aware that these fireworks are a high risk to your life and limb and improper use can have serious, devastating and potentially irreparable consequences. Please ensure you are buying them from a trusted person or business and are fully aware of the safety guidance on how to use them.

"If you do know where these stolen fireworks are, you should contact police immediately. Do not try and use them.

"Anyone who has any information in relation to the theft should also make contact with us immediately."
