Teens attacked in Leicestershire village on Halloween
The group were walking home from a party in Whetstone
Officers are investigating after four teenagers were assaulted on their way home from a Halloween party in Whetstone.
Around 10.45pm on Monday 31 October, a group of 16-year-olds were walking along Cambridge Road – close to The Lime Tree Inn, when they were attacked by a group of older teenage boys.
Three boys and one girl were assaulted – suffering punches and kicks to the head. One of the boys suffered concussion as a result.
Two of the three boys also suffered minor lacerations to their bodies which is believed to have been caused by a knife.
All four received medical treatment on the night and have since been discharged.
Since the incident police have been conducting a number of enquiries and are now appealing for witnesses to come forward.
It is believed at least one of the boys in the group who carried out the assault was riding a blue bicycle and wearing a black Nike tracksuit. One is also believed to have been wearing a black Canada Goose puffer jacket.
Detective Sergeant Lee Owen, investigating officer, said: “I would urge anyone who was in the area of Cambridge Road around the time of the incident to come forward if they saw what happened or if they think they saw the group of boys believed to be responsible either before or after the assault.
“The incident happened outside of the pub on Halloween night and the Co-op is directly opposite so I’m sure there would have been people around at this time.
“We’d also like to hear from you if you think you may have seen the group of teenage boys earlier in the day. It is believed they had been in the Whetstone area since Monday afternoon. Please come forward if you have any information as it may assist with our investigation.”
