An investigation is underway after a teenage boy was stabbed inside a shop in Nottingham city centre.

Nottinghamshire Police say the attack happened at the Primark store in Long Row at around 11:30am this morning (Sunday 23rd February).

The victim, a 17-year-old boy, suffered a stab wound to his chest following a fight involving a group of young people that's reported to have taken place outside the shop.

The teenager was treated at the scene by paramedics and was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

A suspect was then seen running away afterwards in the direction of Old Market Square.

There are no details of any arrests so far.

Detective Inspector Paul Shortt from Nottinghamshire Police said:

“This was an appalling act of violence carried out in full view of members of the public.

“A team of detectives is now working to understand exactly what happened in the moments before, during and after this incident.

“To this end they want to hear from anyone who saw or heard any part of what happened.

“No matter how significant you think your information may be, we want to hear from you without delay.”

Anyone with information is being urged to call 101, quoting incident 241 of 23 February 2025.
