Recent reports of stabbings in Nottingham "not linked" according to police

Recent reports of knife crime in Nottingham are "not linked in any way" according to detectives.

It's after a 17-year-old was taken to hospital with serious injuries after reportedly being stabbed at a house party on Friday (28th February).

Emergency services were called to Hounds Gate in Nottingham at 11.42 pm that night, where a teenager was found with serious, but not life-threatening injuries.

7 teenagers in total have been arrested in connection with the incident.

Nottinghamshire Police say five were arrested on Saturday.

An 18-year-old and four 17-year-olds were arrested on suspicion of affray. They've since all been released on bail with conditions not the enter the city centre.

On Sunday two more were arrested, a 17-year-old boy and a 16-year-old girl, who were previously said to have been injured in the incident.

They were questioned on suspicion of affray, the girl has since been released on bail with conditions not to enter the city centre.

The boy remains in custody.

Superintendent Kathryn Craner, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:

“Thank you to those that have come forward and spoken with us to assist our inquiries.

“We now know that a number of those involved are believed to be known to each other, and we continue to work around the clock to establish the circumstances which resulted in the shocking acts of violence.

“It is still believed that this incident is not in any way linked to those that took place in the city earlier this week, however we will maintain a high presence in the city centre with additional patrols continuing over the coming days."
