Police investigating a serious sexual assault in Leicester have shared an e-fit image of a man they want to identify.

A woman who's now in her 20s reported getting into a dark grey estate car in the city centre on the night of 25th October 2017. She thought the car was a taxi and asked to be dropped off in Manor Road in Oadby.

When she tried to get out she was assaulted by the driver. The car - which was believed to have been similar to a Toyota Prius and was on either a 15 or 51 plate - drove off at speed.

The incident was reported to the police in April last year.

Detective Constable Jason Smalley, the investigating officer, said: “The victim in this incident has shown great courage in coming forward to report what happened.

“From speaking to her, we want to identify a man similar to the e-fit pictured. At the time the incident occurred, we believe he was in his late 30s or early 40s and is around 5ft 9ins tall.

“He had a tattoo – possibly a tribal design – on his left upper arm, between the shoulder and elbow.

“Do you recognise him? Do you know who this person is? Anything you’re able to tell us, no matter how insignificant you think it is, could help.”
