Police investigating after woman's body found on M1 near Leicester
The motorway was closed at Junction 22 for more than eight hours

Police are investigating the death of a woman who was found on the M1 through part of Leicestershire, with the motorway closed for more than eight hours.
Police received a call at 5.10am this morning (18th January) from a driver travelling along the southbound carriageway at junction 22.
The road was closed between junction 22 and 21a as emergency services responded at the scene and has since reopened.
It follows an incident yesterday morning where the same stretch of motorway was closed for several hours whilst police dealt with a report of a person on the wrong side of the bridge over the carriageway. Police now believe it to be the same woman.
Officers who attended yesterday took the woman to hospital for assessment.
Police are now appealing to anyone who may have seen the woman prior to her death to get in touch.
