Detectives have released CCTV images of two men they wish to trace after a “brutal” assault which left a man with 10 stitches to his forehead.

The incident happened on Sunday 9 June just after midnight in Goose Gate near Baa Bar in Nottingham city centre.

Two men have approached a group outside the bar before carrying out the attack, with one of the victims, aged 20, being struck to the face multiple times whilst on the floor. The two men then fled the scene.

The victim required hospital treatment and was left with 10 stitches to his forehead and a broken nose.

Police have now released images of two men who could help them further their investigation. They are calling on the public’s help to identify them.

Detective Constable Samual Richardson, who is investigating the incident, said:

“This was a brutal and sustained attack in our city centre, and we are determined to catch those involved.

“During the assault the victim fell to the floor and was struck to the face multiple times with no chance at all to defend himself.

“There is absolutely no place for this type of violence on our city streets and we are working extremely hard to ensure those responsible are brought to justice.

“We have released CCTV image of two men who could help us with our inquiries.

“Do you know the two people in the images? Are you the two people in these images? We would urge you to get in touch with us as soon as possible.”
