Police have been called to a suspected bomb hoax at a school in Staffordshire.

Officer say they were called to Robert Sutton Catholic School on Bluestone Lane, Burton-on-Trent, just after 8am today (Wednesday 1 May) following reports of an individual making threats via email.

Officers went there and carried out an extensive search to make sure the area was safe and reassure pupils and staff.

There is not believed to be any wider threat to the public at this time. We’re treating this as a hoax and will be carrying out enquiries to identify the person responsible.
