A man has died following a collision in Derby.

Officers received a call about a collision between a black Seat Ibiza and a black Seat Leon on Warwick Avenue in Normanton shortly after 10pm yesterday (23rd August).

It's reported that the Seat Ibiza, which had been travelling from the direction of Manor Road towards Kenilworth Drive, collided with a tree prior to the collision with the Seat Leon.

The driver of the Seat Ibiza, a man in his twenties, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

His family are aware and are being supported by specialist officers.

The road was closed overnight and into the morning whilst collision investigation work was carried out but has now reopened.

Officers investigating the collision are keen to hear from anyone with private CCTV or dash cam footage from the area of Manor Road on to Warwick Avenue and towards Stenson Road, in the moments leading up to the collision.
