Nottingham's Emily Campbell becomes first British female weightlifter to win Olympic Medal
Campbell will take a silver back to Bulwell
Nottingham's Emily Campbell picked up a shock silver medal in the +87kg.
The 27-year-old Olympic debutant lifted a total of 283kg, beating American Sarah Robles who placed 3rd with 282kg.
The gold was won convincingly by China's Li Wenwen who set an Olympic record of 320kg.
The silver medal performance also set a new British and Commonwealth records and was GB's first ever female weightlifting medal. It is also Britain's first Olympic weightlifting medal since 1984.
Campbell took bronze at the 2018 Commonwealth Games and won this year's European Championships in Moscow.
Earlier in the competition New Zealand's Laurel Hubbard became the first openly transgender athlete to compete at an Olympic in a different gender category to the one in which they were born.
