Nottingham attacks: Man launches campaign to name tram after victims
There are calls for it to be named the "BIG heart" tram.
A Nottingham man's campaigning for a lasting memorial to be put in place- to remember the three people that died in a series of attacks in the city centre earlier this month.
Adam Odell wants to re-name one of the city's trams "the BIG heart, after the first initials of those who died.
Barnaby Webber, Ian Coates and Grace O'Malley-Kumar were all stabbed to death just over 2 weeks ago (13th June).
Adam's campaign has the backing of thousands of people and has been shared more that 6,000 times on Facebook.
"I thought what sort of thing can we do for a lasting memorial?
"Things were bouncing around in my head...and then I thought about a tram.
"The trams also go to the University and Bulwell...the places that mean a lot to the poor victims"
Barnaby Webber and Grace O'Malley Kumar were found fatally stabbed on Ilkeston Road Just after 4am on Tuesday 13th June.
They were walking home from a night out when they were attacked.
Ian Coates was found dead on Magdala road a short time later.
He was also found with stab wounds and his van was allegedly stolen.
A man has appeared in court charged with three counts of murder and three counts of attempted murder, which relate to three people hit and injured by the van.
Adam was away when the attacks happened so felt he had to organise something to bring the city together.
"I just felt disconnected because I was away from my city when this happened.
"We could only watch on the news and could just feel everybody's pain and grief. It was so emotional, just tragic, tragic events."
