Man jailed for throwing knife through window in Nottingham
He'll spend six months in prison
A man has been jailed after throwing a lock knife through a window during an altercation with his partner.
Deyonta Grant hurled the weapon through a window at Bustler Market, in Sneinton, at around 10am on 5 October last year.
CCTV footage showed the 31-year-old having a row with a woman outside the street food venue moments before the incident.
Officers were called and arrested Grant, who refused to comment during his police interview.
However, faced with overwhelming CCTV evidence, he went on to plead guilty to criminal damage and possession of a bladed article in a public place.
Grant, of Bath Street, Sneinton, appeared at Nottingham Crown Court on Wednesday (18 December) and was jailed for six months.
Detective Constable Darren Barker, who led the investigation, said:
“Grant’s behaviour that day was utterly appalling and caused hundreds of pounds worth of damage to a local business.
“I am pleased he has now received a jail sentence for what happened and sincerely hope he uses this experience to address the root causes of his offending and get the support he needs to make this his last spell in custody.”
