Man in critical condition after being found unconscious in Creswell

Police say they’re particularly keen to speak to anyone in the Ours Bar at the time of the incident in the early hours of yesterday morning (January 27)

A man is in a critical condition in hospital after reports of an assault in the early hours of yesterday morning (January 27) in Creswell.

The victim in his 40s suffered a serious head injury, with officers wanting to hear from anyone who was in the Ours Bar and Lounge at the time of the incident, at about 01:30am.

He was found unconscious near to the pub on Elmton Road.

In a statement, Nottinghamshire Police said: "An investigation is ongoing and officers at this time are particularly keen to speak to anyone who was in the Ours bar that night and may have noticed any altercations, or fights, or who saw what happened on Elmton Road in the early hours.

"We would also like to trace a van which is believed to have driven down the road and stopped nearby at the time of the incident.

"A 25-year-old man was arrested earlier today on suspicion of assault. He has been questioned and released on police bail while enquiries continue."
