Man dies in Hucknall house fire

Investigations into what caused the blaze are underway

A man's died after a house fire on Wigwam Grove in Hucknall.

Emergency services were called around 1 am on Monday 4th November, after a neighbour reported smelling smoke coming from the property.

The Fire Service say a 35-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.

An investigation is now underway into the cause of the fire.

Group Manager of Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service, Richard Cooper, said: “This really is a sad and tragic incident, and I would like to send my sincere condolences to the gentleman’s family and friends."

"“I would also like to thank the emergency services that responded to this incident. There will still be a fire service presence in the area. whilst we complete our outstanding investigations, and firefighters will be in the area soon to offer support to local residents"
