Man charged with murder of mother-of-three in Nottinghamshire

A man's been charged with the murder of a mother-of-three in Nottinghamshire.

Police were called to an address on Nottingham Road in Eastwood at 11am on Friday morning (19th April) where they found the body of 53-year-old Rachel McDaid.

Over the weekend, detectives have charged 60-year-old Michael McDaid, of Nottingham Road, Eastwood, with murder and the possession of a Class B drug.

He remains in custody at this time and is due before Nottingham Magistrates Court today (22nd April).

Detective Chief Inspector Clare Dean, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “As we announce this charge today, my thoughts remain with the family, who must be going through the worst pain imaginable.

"Specially trained officers are in the process of providing them with support and this will continue during this difficult time.”
