Man charged with murder of Derby man

Police in Derbyshire have charged a man with a 47-year-old in Derby.

Emergency Services were called to an address on Witney Close in Allenton around 1.45pm last Thursday (9th January) to reports of a man being found seriously injured.

47-year-old Anthony Tipper, known as Tony, was pronounced dead at the scene.

His family are being supported by specially trained officers.

Two men were arrested in connection with the incident the same day, with two others detained over the weekend.

This morning (13th January) Derbyshire Police say they have charged a man with Mr Tipper's murder.

52-year-old Simon Thomason, from Hawthorn Street in Derby has been charged with murder and remanded into custody ahead of a court appearance at Southern Derbyshire Magistrates Court.

Three other men, aged in the 30s, 40s and 50s, have been released on police bail.
