Man charged with murder of a woman in Leicester
40-year-old Natasha Morais died at a house in Whetstone last Thursday.
A 27-year-old man has been charged with murder following a three-day investigation.
Shannon Grant, from Rotherham Road in Coventry, has been charged with the murder of 40-year-old Natasha Morais.
Police were called at 8.42pm on Thursday 22nd June 2023 to a report of Natasha unresponsive in an address in Loughland Close in Whetstone.
Officers entered the address, but she was pronounced dead at the scene.
Grant will be appearing at Leicester Magistrates’ Court later.
Four others were arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender. Three – two men, aged 22 and 53, and a 19-year-old woman were released under investigation while the fourth, a 35-year-old woman, has been released on police bail while enquiries continue.

Natasha’s family have released the following words in tribute: “Natasha was loved by all her family and she will be greatly missed by us all.
“Her life was cut short and that will forever leave a hole in our hearts.
“We hold onto and will always treasure the beautiful memories we share and all the love she gave to all those around her.
“Rest in perfect peace, you beautiful soul. We love you so much.”
