Man arrested on suspicion of attempted murder at pub in Nottinghamshire

A man has been arrested under suspicion of attempted murder after a stabbing outside a pub in Kirkby-in-Ashfield.

The incident was reported to police just before 1am on Sunday 22 October.

A 27-year-old man was stabbed outside The Nags Head pub in Station Street and taken to Queen’s Medical Centre.

His condition is critical but stable.

Tyrone James, aged 40, of Skegby Road in Kirkby-in-Ashfield, has been charged with attempted murder, possession of an offensive weapon in a public place and assault by beating.

He appeared at Nottingham Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday 24 October and has been remanded into custody.

He is due to appear in court next month.
