Mary Earps named Sunday Times 'Sportswoman of the Year'

It's been a busy week of awards for the Nottingham born goalkeeper

England goalkeeper Mary Earps has been voted the 2023 Sunday Times Sportswoman of the Year.

The 30-year-old, who grew up playing for the West Bridgford Colts, helped the Lionesses reach the World Cup final in August.

She keeping three clean sheets at the tournament , winning the Golden Glove.

The Manchester United player was fifth on the Ballon d'Or list, the highest-ever ranking for a female goalkeeper.

Earps follows last year's winner, athlete Eilish McColgan, and tennis player Emma Raducanu, who won in 2021.

The newspaper named the Lionesses the Team of the Year award.
