Police launch appeal after man seriously assaulted in Derby park

Derbyshire Police are appealing for information after a man was seriously assaulted in a park in Derby city.

Officers were first called to an incident taking place at the Derby Arboretum Park on Rose Hill Street at 9pm on Friday evening (July 27th).

When officers arrived, they found that a man had been hit with a bat by a group of young people that he did not know.

Emergency services were called to the scene to deliver emergency medical treatment, with paramedics taking a 30-year-old man to hospital.

Police have said that the victim remains in a serious but stable conditions as investigations into the incident are ongoing.

Officers were given descriptions of the youths by the victim, who described them as being of Asian descent and being aged between 15 and 20 years old.

The main attacker of the group is believed to have been wearing a long white thobe, a kaftan-style piece of clothing.

Anyone who may have witnessed the incident or was around the area at the time of the attack is being asked to get in touch as soon as possible.
