Police in Derbyshire have arrested a man following several reports of indecent exposure in Derby city centre.

Officers first received reports of someone exposing themselves on Friday (May 24th) at around 1:45 p.m.

Reports suggested that a man had approached a number of teenage girls and proceeding to expose himself to them.

Responding to the calls, officers carried out a search of the local area and proceeded to arrest a man in the afternoon.

The man was arrested on suspicion of two counts of exposure and four counts of sexual assault.

Since then, the 32-year-old man has been held in police custody as investigators have piece together a series of similar incidents that may be connected.

Two previous reports of indecent exposure and four previous reports of teenage girls being touched inappropriately are also being looked at by the force.

Whilst officers continue their enquiries, Derbyshire Police have said there is a heightened police presence in the city centre to reassure the local public.

As well as this, the force has appealed for any information and witnesses who may have seen the incidents take place to come forward.

They also particularly welcome anyone who may have been a victim to the man to come forward, as police try to piece together the events leading up to his arrest.

Anyone who may have any information regarding this can get in touch by calling 101 and quoting incident reference number 24000305168.
