Derby: 3 people in hospital after chemical leak

3 people have been taken to hospital after a chemical leak in Derby.

Fire and Rescue Crews say the leak is now isolated to a commercial property on Princes Street.

A total of 24 people have been evacuated and supported by the ambulance service.

Advice is to avoid the area right now.

Regarding the incident, Derbyshire Fire and Rescue say:

"Firefighters from Ascot Drive and Kingsway were called to attend the building at 08:50 hours this morning (Sunday 16 March) following a reported chemical leak. Crews have now isolated the leak which was not impacting any other property or surrounding area.

"All occupants were evacuated from the building. 24 were checked over by paramedics on scene with 3 being taken to hospital for precautionary checks.

"Derbyshire police are also in attendance."
