Derbyshire: man charged for crash which killed mother and son

It happened on Saturday on the A632 Chesterfield road near Kelstedge.

A man has been charged in connection with a fatal crash in Derbyshire.

The crash, involving a Hyundai and a black BMW, occurred on the A632 Chesterfield Road at Span Carr on Saturday 9th December.

A 59-year-old woman from the Hyundai, died at the scene.

Her son, who was 22, was taken to hospital via air ambulance.

He died of his injuries a short while later.

Joshua Hill was arrested on Monday 11 December.

The 27-year-old was charged with causing death by dangerous driving, causing death by driving while unlicensed/uninsured, failing to stop after an accident and failing to report an accident.

He is due to appear at Southern Derbyshire Magistrates’ Court on the 12th December

A 40-year-old man has also been arrested in connection with the collision.

He has been released on bail as investigations continue.
