A man's charged over a stabbing at McDonalds in Leicester

A man in his 20s has been taken to hospital with a head injury

Leicestershire Police were called to Market Street in Leicester just after 5am yesterday (Tuesday 2 July) after a man in his 20s was stabbed inside McDonalds. He sustained an injury to his head and was taken to hospital but has since been discharged.

37-year-old Daniel Edgar, of no fixed address, has been charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent and will appear at Leicester Magistrates’ Court today (Wednesday 3 July).

A 33-year-old man also arrested has been released with no further action.

Police says officers continue to be in the area carrying out reassurance patrols.
