Excitement still high at Youth Beatz day two
Festival goers are soaking up every minute of action
After a successful first day, crowds of festival goers have descended back on Scotland’s largest free music event for another, final, afternoon of action.
With a fresh set of headliners taking to the stage, fans are gathering to watch the likes of Ella Henderson, Vengaboys, and Callum Beattie.
Also on offer are performances from Prussia Snailham, Berta Kennedy, and Euan Pattie on stage two, with another mix of local acts ready to entertain on stage three.
Speaking just before her set on the second stage yesterday, Becca Starr said: "I'm here representing the west of Scotland, I used to live here in Dumfries and it's an honour to come back and play at Youth Beatz.
"The atmosphere is amazing, it seems really positive, there's always a really nice community vibe every time I come to Dumfries and this is no exception.
"It's really nice to see such a mix of established artists and people that are up and coming."
With a huge range of performers, fair ground rides, and activities including mini golf and laser tag, there's plenty to keep all ages entertained.
Chair of Dumfries and Galloway Council’s Communities Committee, Councillor Ian Blake said: “It is great to see such a comprehensive offering of activities at this year’s festival. Taking part in these activities is informative, fun and allows our young people to build their confidence, broaden their horizons and try new things.
"I would encourage all festival attendees to take part in as many opportunities as they are able to over the weekend.”
Dumfries and Galloway Council’s Leisure and Sports Team are on site, alongside other partners running informative sessions, with the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service delivering a series of workshops on water safety, fire safety, road safety, and CPR.
As well as activity-based options at Youth Beatz 2023, the Youth Information Marketplace will feature 17 organisations from across Dumfries and Galloway, who will promote their services for young people.
