A light is set to be shone on some of the most inspirational youngsters across the region, as nominations are invited for this years Dumfries & Galloway Youth Awards.

Since beginning back in 2018 as part of Scotland’s Year of Young People, the local awards have been held annually, to celebrate the young people who have contributed to the region in one way or another.

The public can nominate individuals or groups aged between 12 and 25 across a range of categories.

Nominations can be accessed online at the youth awards website, and are open until the 23rd of October.

Winners will be announced at an award ceremony in Easterbrook Hall on the 23rd of November.

On the evening itself, a live vote will determine the winner of ‘Young Person of the Year’, with candidates made up from winners of some previous categories.
