Motorcyclist left in ‘serious condition’ after collision

A 57-year-old man in serious condition was airlifted to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow after being involved in a two-vehicle crash on the A713 Ayr to Castle Douglas Road north of Dundeugh.

Police are appealing for any information about the collision that happened yesterday just after 11am, involving a black BMW bike and a Mercedes Sprinter delivery van.

Road officers closed the road for around nine hours.

Constable Chris Kirkpatrick said: "Our enquiries into this collision remain ongoing and we are appealing to anyone that witnessed the incident to come forward.

"We would also like to speak to anyone who saw the vehicles, or has dashcam footage of them, prior to the crash."
