Strike action among workers at A. G. Barr’s factory in Cumbernauld, which could have disrupted the supply of Irn Bru, has been suspended.

Unite members were set to walk out on 13th and 16th October but, following a potential breakthrough in pay dispute talks, the union has called the action off for now.

However the scheduled strike action from 20 to 30 October remains in place until Unite’s A.G. Barr members have been consulted, and any subsequent vote is taken on a formal new pay offer which is tabled.

The strike action among truck and shunter drivers escalated after Unite’s members overwhelmingly rejected the company’s 5% pay offer for 2023.
