Unite the union have announces a serious of stoppages which will impact DuPont Teijin Films in Dumfries.
Five rounds of 12 hour action periods involving around 100 Unite members will take place on the 20th, 22nd, 24th, 26th, and 28th of September.
A continuous overtime ban is also in place, and has been since July.
The plant is a major UK supplier of films for electrical, medical, photo, print, and photovoltaic uses to supermarkets, hospital careering firms, schools, and ready meals.
Action is being taken following what unite say is a 'brutal' wage cut
Unite the Union has accused DuPont management of by-passing agreed collective bargaining procedures, as well as the workforce’s trade union representatives, with a 3.3 per cent wage offer in April, while the broader rate of inflation remains at 9 per cent.
Speaking on the matter, Unite general secretary Sharon Graham, said: “Unite’s Dupont membership are not prepared to tolerate a company which imposes a wage offer, and also refuses to talk with the workforce’s trade union.
“A 3.3 per cent offer represents a massive, real terms pay cut and our members won’t stand for it."
Andy Macfarlane, Unite industrial officer, added: “DuPont imposed a brutal wage cut on our members in April without any negotiation.
“Our members have no option but to take strike action, and we don’t rule out more days.”
The company has been approached for comment.
