Several vehicles were set on fire in Dumfries early this morning, and police are appealing for information.

The wilful fire-raising happened around 3.55am, and officers were sent down to Catherinefield Industrial Estate to respond to the seven vehicles alight.

There are no injuries; however, the vans have been “completely destroyed”.

An investigation is underway as officers treat the fire as wilful.

CCTV footage is being checked in and around the area.

Detective Sergeant Grant Drennan said: “I would appeal to anyone who has any information regarding this incident to contact us. If you were in the area and have any dash cam then please check your footage as it could provide us with further detail on who is responsible for this wilful fire-raising.”

Anyone with any information is asked to contact 101, quoting reference 0374 of Monday, 23 June 2025.
