Police looking for witnesses to help Dumfries assault investigation

Officers believe two teenage boys can help.

A man was assaulted in Dumfries yesterday afternoon and police are appealing for any information and witnesses.

The incident happened around 3.40pm in the Caul View area and the 32-year-old was taken to Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary for treatment.

Officers are looking for two male teenagers aged around 16 who they believe can help with the investigation.

One is described as slim build and approximately 5ft 2, wearing a light-coloured hoodie with the hood up.

The other has the same build but is approximately 5ft 8, also wearing the hood up on his dark-coloured hoodie.

Detective Sergeant Kelly Douglas said: “We are appealing for anyone with information on the incident to please contact police on 101, quoting incident 2592 of 31 October, 2024. Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, if you wish to remain anonymous.”
