Detectives are investigating 'wilful fires' at Dumfries business park

Four commercial trucks have been set on fire at a yard in Dumfries.

Detectives are looking for information after several vehicles were deliberately set on fire in Dumfries.

It happened between 9pm and 11pm on Tuesday near Cargen Tower at Garroch Business Park - with four Iveco flatbed vans destroyed and another damaged.

Emergency crews managed to put the fires out and there were no reported injuries.

Detective Constable Christopher Trosh said: “These fires are being treated as wilful and an investigation is underway to establish the full circumstances.

“We are appealing for any witnesses who were near the area at the time and noticed anything suspicious. In addition, anyone with CCTV or dash-cam footage which may have captured any vehicles coming and going from the area, is asked to contact police.”
